NDP Statement on Chinese New Year

“I would like to extend my best wishes to all Chinese Canadians celebrating the Lunar New Year – the longest and most important holiday in the Chinese calendar.

For the next two weeks, Chinese communities around the world will celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Fire Rooster. The Rooster symbolizes honesty, hard work, ambition and confidence. Let us come together around these values to overcome the challenges of this New Year and bring about positive change.

All New Democrats join me in wishing Chinese Canadians a joyful celebration and a healthy and prosperous year ahead.”
