CHARLIE ANGUS' MESSAGE TO STARS AND THUNDER ORGANIZERS AND VOLUNTEERS

Updated: Mar 29, 2021

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the recent Stars and Thunder concert series in Timmins. As a professional musician who has played across this great country for many years, Timmins should be very proud of this musical showcase.

Success of a week-long event cannot happen without countless dedicated people. Congratulations to City Council, staff, volunteers, police, fire and ambulance workers who made everything go seamlessly. That’s not an easy task given the magnitude of the assignment at hand. Year 1 worked very well but this past festival was even more impressive.

I would especially like to thank the Timmins Symphony Orchestra for allowing me to join them as part of the tribute to the late Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip. TSO is a terrific gem in Timmins and I salute them for continuing to grow and branch out across the community.

As a musician and your Member of Parliament, I am so proud to call Stars and Thunder a part of my community. And I can guarantee you that I will continue to brag and promote the event to my colleagues across the country.

Way to go Timmins ...We are the jewel of the north.
