CHARLIE ANGUS ELECTED NATIONAL CAUCUS CHAIR

– New Democrat MPs elected Charlie Angus as their National Caucus Chair and Ruth Ellen Brosseau (Berthier—Maskinongé) as Vice-Chair today.

Angus says he’s honoured to have the support of his colleagues and will represent them with conviction and energy. "As Canada's progressive opposition, our caucus will work hard to ensure the government delivers the change that Canadians want.”

Charlie Angus is the NDP critic for Indigenous and Northern Affairs as well as the critic for Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario. Ruth Ellen Brosseau is the Agriculture and Agri-Food critic.

Elected for the first time in 2004, the new Caucus Chair is also a musician, writer and broadcaster.
