ANGUS WELCOMES FEDERAL INVESTMENT IN TIMMINS AND THE NORTH: Timmins-James Bay 3rd Highest

Charlie Angus welcomed the 117 federal government investments made in Timmins and the region since 2015. Timmins-James Bay was the 3rd highest riding for funding announcements in the country according to Global news.

“We’ve seen a lot of projects go forward up here, and it’s helping Timmins and the region address the northern infrastructure gap.”

Investments in Timmins include money for economic and business development, critical infrastructure and support for public transit, including a million dollar investment into the Venture Centre and multiple investments for repairs and upgrades totaling over one million dollars to the Timmins bus terminal and the city’s bus system.

Towns like Cochrane, Englehart and Kirkland Lake have also received substantial investments to repair and enhance infrastructure and services.

“I’m happy to see Timmins and the North rank near the top in terms of both projects funded and total investment. It shows that the Timmins region has a strong voice in Ottawa. We have always gotten our fair share.”
